Hello everyone. I'm a member of an action research team here at my school, the only
Education Support staff member, and am interested in any sort of resources that I can show to my team.

Hi Heather, I noticed on the Oz_TLNet email discussions that there was a reference to Edna for its cross-sectoral page on Indigenous education which provides resources to support Aboriginal culture. This might be of interest to you.

ATOM Study Guide at: http://www.jenithornley.com
and http://www.metromagazine.com.au
Documentary blog filmmaking process with educational links: blog: http://jenithornleydoco.blogspot.com/

The film’s six chapters - Amnesia, Possession, Memory, Mourning, Encounter, Reckoning - convey the movement of the protocols process that the filmmaker worked with including Respect, Aboriginal Control, Communication, Consultation and Consent and Proper Returns. (The ATOM Study Guide includes resource links to various protocol documents.
Students can research film related Indigenous Protocols such as SBS and ABC protocols and also explore projects that ask them to think through how they might work with Protocols on a project.

Tommorrow am Monday 22.6.09 at 4.15 am ABC Overnights (radio talk back) are doing an in interview with me about the film - and talkback - on these topics. “How many of us grew up with little or no knowledge of Australian history – particulary of colonial times and interaction with indigenous peoples? What happens when you start to explore that history - both our national history and our personal history? I think you can get as a podcast .

DVD's and Study Guides from http://www.jenithornley.com/ and The Education Shop.
Schools , TAFE & University libraries can also copy off air via screenrights: http://www.screen.org

Hi Heather. What school are you teaching at and what level is it? Marion

Hi Marion. I'm actually not a teacher but the AV/library assistant at Rosebud Secondary College. I'm involved with our Koori Action Research team. We have the highest number of Koori kids enrolled here on the peninsula. Koori education is just in its infantcy here, so I am just looking at what is available.
